NMR‐based Metabonomics Workshop
From NMR data to Biological Interpretation
Thursday, November 15, 10:00 – 16:00
The Logan Hilton, Boston, MA
Umetrics and Chenomx are running a one day workshop demonstrating the power of combining Targeted Profiling of NMR spectra with Multivariate Analysis.
The workshop will show how to process and analyze NMR data using Chenomx NMR suite and how to build valid and predictive multivariate models using Umetrics SIMCA‐P+ software.
This introductory workshop will also include a chance to gain hands‐on experience with Chenomx and Umetrics software by completing short exercises using real metabonomic NMR datasets.
Registration is limited, so if you wish to attend please
book soon by e‐mailing workshop.registration@chenomx.com
Everyone registered for the workshop will be sent a link enabling them to sign up for the conference at a discounted rate of up to 50%.
Workshop Details
The workshop will cover the following areas:
• The differences between spectral binning and targeted profiling of NMR data
• How targeted profiling improves biological interpretation
• When to apply targeted profiling to NMR datasets
• The advantages of multivariate data modeling for predictivity and interpretability
• How to apply PCA to detect outliers, trends and patterns in NMR data
• The use of OPLS‐DA for identification of potential biomarkers
• The steps required to validate metabonomics data models
Who Should Participate?
The course is intended for researchers involved in NMR‐based metabonomics. No prior knowledge of multivariate statistics or data processing/interpretation is assumed. Some familiarity with NMR spectroscopy is required.
Location
The workshop will be held at the Logan Hilton, one of the designated hotels for the Advances in Metabolic Profiling 2007 meeting:
Logan Hilton, One Hotel Drive, Boston, Massachusetts, United States 02128
