Welcome to the inaugural Advances in Synthetic Biology conference and exhibition.
Synthetic biology is the design and construction of new biological parts, devices and systems (and the re-design of existing, natural biological systems) for useful purposes. Its interdisciplinary nature between science and engineering, as well as the many potential applications in the health, material and energy sectors, make this a particularly exciting conference.
A complimentary tour of the Sanger Institute was also provided to the conference participants.
