13:00-13:45, 18th September 2008

Booth # 15 & 16
Access to a New World of RNAi-based Discovery
The issues of setting up RNAi experiments: delivery, functionality, and specificity. The talk will review past and recent technology progression and highlight how to use recent innovations to improve the quality and reliability of your RNAi experiments.
During the last few years RNAi technology has evolved into a powerful tool routinely used in biological and medical research. Several key issues for successful implementation of RNAi-based experiments will be addressed including experimental design, delivery options, and the functionality and specificity of the silencing reagents. The advantages and pitfalls of utilizing RNAi tools in genome-wide screens and in vivo applications will also be reviewed while highlighting current best practices and recent innovations that enhance these important molecular tools.
