Nigel Saunders is an academic medical bacteriologist, with a personal research focus upon bacterial genomics and pathogenesis, and a technical research focus on functional genomics, including a major focus upon the use of microarrays, including wide-ranging collaborative projects using DNA and protein microarrays. Microarray-based projects include: technical development; microarray production; animal, plant, and microbial expression profiling; microbial CGH; microRNA analysis; biomarker identification; development and testing of novel analytical tools; vaccine target / protective epitope screening; and others.
