Rachael Scahill's Biography

Rachael Scahill, Senior Research Associate

Rachael Scahill completed her first degree in Zoology from Oxford University, after which she undertook an MSc in Scientific Computing. Her PhD at University College London focused on the use of structural MRI to identify early brain changes in familial Alzheimer’s disease. After a short spell as a Scientific Editor at the British Medical Journal she joined Professor Sarah Tabrizi’s Huntington’s Disease Research Group at the UCL Institute of Neurology. She led the Image Analysis Team for the TRACK-HD project and is now investigating the use of multimodal imaging data to identify compensatory mechanisms in premanifest HD gene carriers as part of the Track-On study. Rachael has over 60 peer-reviewed publications, serves on the Track-On Steering Committee and is a member of a number of international HD working groups.
